New Hope for the Pain Epidemic

And pain can affect your social life, resulting in feelings of isolation and depression - on top of the physical pain.

Drugs Are Not Working...

About 21.6 million Americans, or one in ten (11%) adults, take prescription pain medication regularly to manage chronic pain. Nearly nine in ten pain sufferers (88%) take prescription pain medication at least once a day and they are likely to take prescription pain medication for long periods of time.

However, as pain sufferers know, medication may not be sufficient means to manage pain.

First, pain medication may not always be effective. Three in five pain sufferers (62%) say their pain medication "works better on some days than others."

Second, after taking medication for a long period a time, the medication may become less effective: One in three (33%) says it becomes less effective the longer they take it, that is, there is a ceiling effect.

Third, pain medication may incur side effects: Three in ten (31%) pain sufferers experience side effects caused by their prescription pain medications.

What Else Can be Done?

Side effects, dependence, and decreased effectiveness over time... Medications are merely managing the pain, and also they are not necessarily effective at that!

Nine in ten (92%) physicians recommend non-drug pain management techniques to their chronic pain patients.

What if you could reduce or eliminate the need for pain medication? Wouldn't that be a relief?

I'm the CEO/Owner of Quantum-Touch, Inc. We teach a method of natural healing called Quantum-Touch. QT is a complementary pain management technique that targets the cause of pain. While medications manage the symptoms, they do not get to the root of the pain. For example, if you have back pain, it could be due to injury, misalignment of the spine, or a host of other factors. Taking pain medication will not address the misalignment or the injury or the trigger of the pain.

Quantum-Touch works differently. We work with the premise that the body, given the right conditions, knows how to heal itself.

Quantum-Touch works with the Life-Force Energy of the body. Life-Force Energy, (also called Prana, Chi, bioenergy, etc) is the difference between something that is "alive" vs. something that is not "alive." So if you leave lettuce out on the counter for a few days, you'll notice that it will become wilted - it will start losing it's life-force energy. Just picked lettuce, on the other hand, still has it's life-force energy intact. Similarily, if you life-force energy is low, you may feel tired, drained, or depressed, etc. Pain, disease, inflammation, etc is created from a lack of, or imbalance of our life-force energy. For example, if you have a garden hose and you are trying to water the lawn - you can stop the flow of water by stepping on the hose, or creating a kink in the hose. If you can remove the blockage in the hose, then the water will flow freely.

Quantum-Touch can help to increase the life-force energy. QT works by applying the principles of resonance and entrainment to facilitate healing. Practitioners learn to focus and amplify life-force energy by combining various breathing and body awareness exercises. When the practitioner resonates at a high frequency, the client often entrains to, or matches, the higher frequency, thereby facilitating healing using the body's biological intelligence. Life-force energy affects matter on the quantum, subatomic level and works its way up through atoms, molecules, cells, tissues, and structure.

Richard Gordon, founder of Quantum-Touch, trained Dr. C. Normal Shealy, M.D., Ph.D (founding president of the American Holitic Medical Associaton) and his staff in Quantum-Touch. Will Quantum-Touch Work for Me?

Here is a question that I often receive: We have anecdotal stories of how Quantum-Touch has worked for many people, yet the real question is - How will it work for me?

Every body is unique in its capacity to heal. How quickly a person heals is due in part to variables such as:

• Nutritional needs (does their body have the resources?)
• Willingness to heal (on the surface it's always "yes," but underneath?)
• Time (some things take time, such as tissue growth)
• Toxicity or Congestion in the body (definitely hampers healing)
• Severity (intense or severe conditions won't always heal quickly)
• Emotions and Mental framesets that resist healing

Sometimes chronic pain goes away in one hour during a Quantum-Touch healing session. Sometimes pain relief may be gradual over a long series of sessions. We have noted that Quantum-Touch appears to be more effective when someone else is working on you, rather than doing energy healing on yourself.

Last week I was slated to attend a monthly meeting of the Toledo Area Health and Wellness Community. Just before leaving my office to drive to the meeting place, I received an urgent telephone call. The scheduled speaker was ill, and was unable to attend the meeting. Would I mind talking about Quantum-Touch? Would I? Absolutely. The time allotment was very limited. In only 10 minutes, I was to let people know what Quantum-Touch is, what it can do, and lead a few demonstrations with audience participants.

What a wonderful 10 minutes those were! My first demonstration was Level 1, and I adjusted the hips of a chiropractor who was astounded that, not only did her back feel better, but the tension she had been feeling on one thigh was immediately relieved. She later stated she'd been determined Quantum-Touch would NOT work, so had locked her hips into place...to no avail.

My second demonstration was using Level 2 on a doctor of natural medicine (ND), whose hips were aligned, but who had been seeing several professionals in an effort to relieve her lower back pain. Without touching her, in only approximately 30 seconds (while I was talking to the audience), her back issue resolved itself! She came to my office the next day to ask questions, and is now taking my Level 1 class.

My third participant was a physical therapist who had been receiving physical therapy for his restricted range of motion in his shoulder. I demonstrated my technique of stabilizing the joint and running energy while he did gentle range of motion. When I released his shoulder, he was astonished at the freedom of movement he immediately experienced!

Horses Heal From Painful Injuries

The very first Icelandic horse we worked on was a mare named Seila. She has laminitis in a very serious way, and the owner feared for her life and thought she would never walk under the man ever again.

She would not walk or move. We knew she hadn’t moved all night for we could see the imprint in the grass where she had slept and the manure was laying at her feet.

The very first time we (Piet Elsinga and Monique Verhaar) treated her, she felt like a dead horse. There was no response from her upper body; it was like poking a piece of meat you buy from the butcher. It felt cold and horrible. All 4 of her legs were hard and stiff and her hooves felt like they were burning. We treated her the first time for over an hour, slowly working our way over the body towards the legs and ended with her hooves. After the treatment, which she enjoyed (she slept… ), she did start to move and went to the water to drink.

We treated her every day for a week and later twice a week.

She made a full recovery, has been working under the rider again, and gave birth to a beautiful stallion

Andvari

On a normal weekday, I went riding with a friend. On site we discovered one of my horses, Andvari, looked like this:

His left eye was completely shut and twice as thick as normal. His right eye was very thick and nearly all closed as well. Since both eyes seemed to be affected, it was most likely due to an allergic reaction. When I started working on him, I was only allowed to do 1 eye at a time. When I tried to do both eyes, he would yank his head away. The other horse was resting his head on him and enjoyed the energy as well. When he was put back on the land, 1 hour later, his right eye was completely open and his left eye had shrunk to nearly normal; it was half open. My friend was so happy to have witnessed this; she said it was an eye-opener for she could now see for real what had happened. The next day I checked up on him, both eyes were normal again. What looked like a serious condition was treated in 40 minutes and never came back.

Silver

I have also been working on a horse named Silver. She is a cross mix of an Andalusian horse and a New Forrester. Approximately 6 weeks ago, she was found with a very large wire cut in her hind leg. The vet had treated the wound and stitched it. Silver didn’t like the stitches and tore them all out. When I arrived the first time, the injury was already 4 weeks old and looked like this:

An open, still bleeding wound and a walking (though slowly… )horse. She was very receptive while I was treating her, and responded very well. Very relaxed, she let me look, touch and feel everything and remained at 1 spot during the treatment.

One week later I returned to check up on her. This is what the wound looked like then:

The wound was closed and looked much better. The pain medication was stopped and the mare was trotting and looked much happier. The thickness of the leg was reduced and the movements of the leg looked like an un-injured one. The owner could not believe his eyes; for a week earlier, the horses would have had to be put to sleep. Now he believes in a full recovery!

I have been doing Quantum-Touch for about a year now and have seen many amazing things, but the most amazing is the story of an 11-year old girl.

Her mother called me after they had just found out that her daughter had a tumor in her spine, in the neck area. She was told that her daughter would need surgery to have the tumor removed. The mother wanted me to see if I could do anything before the surgery.

I always trust God's will in these situations and I knew without a doubt, the tumor could be dissolved. That is exactly what I imagined as I worked distantly on the little girl's spine. I ran heart energy with the intention of cleansing her body of any low vibration energy that was holding the tumor in place.

Once I felt the negative energy was gone, I knew there was no reason for the tumor to stay. I imagined it dissolving and its energy floating up to the sun and being cleansed and sprinkled back onto the little girl giving her power. I go a little crazy with my imagination when I do Quantum-Touch, but it makes it more real and fun.

A few days later, the mother came over to tell me that the doctor took another MRI before the surgery (thank goodness) and there was nothing but an empty space. It was a "normical," but to me it was a bit of a miracle. I am filled with gratitude that I was allowed to be a part of something so wonderful.

I have loved Quantum-Touch from the moment I heard of it and have never doubted its power: the power of love, intention and a little bit of imagination.
