August 8 and 9, I had a level 1 workshop on an animal farm. The owner, who attended the workshop, asked us to do some practice on horses. We paid special attention to a foal, Fuego, that was born blind.
Here is testimony that our lovely hostess sent to all participants 10 days after:
There have been improvements on my horses, it is stunning to see. Stimulus was applied and movement was minimal. On Fuego, our blind foal, remember, he had his head most of the time leaning on the side? He has now recovered to 85-90%! Even if, sometimes, he puts it aside, he’s almost always head-up! Huge!
Also, I had a confusing experience this morning: Fuego sees! I had fun with him in the field; this was the umpteenth round trip we were doing in the meadow. Normally, he would follow the noise and smell. I'd take a small lead, stop when I’m 4 to 5 meters from him, and he'd stop beside me after touching or slightly hitting me since he doesn't see. But this time, instead of joining me, he stopped, turned his head, scratched, and put his nose into the yellow bucket, that was 2 to 3 meters away, without hitting it! Usually he puts a paw in first in order to find it.
Just Waouhhh! Thank you all for participating in this little miracle.
