More Love, Not Less

By Chaya Silberstein

"Ah, so..."

There’s a tendency to freeze, to send energy everywhere but to the place it’s truly needed. How easy it is to barricade what’s most tender to the heart, but this is the exact area that needs to be loved. Take an argument for example, how easy it is to withdraw love. Even if flags of surrender are waved, resentment often builds. Or take uncertainty. Rather than feel love for what bothers us, we often wall it away.

So instead, let’s send love to the places it’s needed. Rather than shutting down in anger or fear, feel love for what feels numb. Feel love for the anger, and for the fear. Feel love for the one who pushes your buttons. “More love, not less,” is always the answer to lean into when healing seems to take longer or symptoms flare up stronger.

What if fear, anger, or loathing was just there without adding meaning to it? What if whatever arises simply arises just like the waves of the ocean and rather than shut down, we can tune our frequency to the vibration of love, always accessible within our own hearts.

And that’s the key. It’s not about forcing our love on another or changing anyone’s mind, but simply feeling the love that arises within us. If it meets with resistance, we feel the resistance. “Ah, so…” as Ram Dass was known to say, “Ah, so…”

When the heart breaks, it’s like a walnut cracking, but oh the beautiful fruit inside. It doesn’t always seem beautiful, especially if pain is involved, but “Ah so…” We are all so capable of experiencing so much love! Love doesn’t ask permission, it just is, just flows; part of this intricate delicate weaving of life. “Ah, so…”

Connecting Love and Energy

When it comes to energy work, allow the energy to flow wherever it wants to go, even if it seems unfamiliar, for often this is the exact path needed for healing. Our bodies are incredible, constantly regenerating cells and pathways. Intention follows thought, so what if everything was possible and it’s only our own minds that keep us limited?

That's not to say we live our life dangling off the edge of a miracle, though that’s definitely an option, but we dance with what’s possible and what we’d like to make possible. We manifest like setting a navigation system and then we take concrete action to help bring it into fruition. Life is always contracting or expanding and if we lean towards the expansion, anything is truly possible. The key ingredient: Your heart. Your love.

Can you stay open even when life seem difficult and external noise threatens to drown your internal compass? Can you stay open even when you want to crawl into your shell like a frightened tortoise? Can you stay open even when it seems to hurt? Because within the fear is also the medicine. Open to the restriction. Feel love for yourself for being afraid and suddenly there you are, sailing off into the infinite universe, watching the sun, moon, and various planets float by. “Ah, so…”
